Pratt and Light streets

Join 100,000 of your nearest and dearest on New Year's Eve. Head downtown for an ice skating demonstration and don skates yourself, hear live music, shop and dine at the Pratt and Light Street pavilions, and hang around for the midnight fireworks. All events are free except for the skating. The performers at the Inner Harbor typically include a mix of retro performers, from disco to '80s to tribute bands.

Fireworks light the sky at midnight with production by Zambelli Fireworks Internationale. Although there are numerous premium vantage points to view the fireworks and hear the choreographed music, the show is usually simulcast on a local radio station just in case you're not at one of the primo spots, so bring a radio.

Up to 300 people take advantage of a high, warm viewing spot at the Top of the World Observation Level (tickets required). Otherwise, it's all outdoors, so bundle up against the weather. In case of severe winds, lightning, or other extreme weather, the fireworks show will be held Jan. 1 at 6PM.
